Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 1, 2026

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how The One Mile ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects personal data when you visit theonemile.com or interact with us. The One Mile is operated by Dennis Luks. We act as the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

For any privacy-related questions or to exercise your rights, contact us at dennis@theonemile.com.

2. What data we collect

We only collect what we need to run the site and respond to enquiries:

  • Contact data you provide directly — name, email, company, role, and the content of messages — when you book a briefing, fill in a form, or email us.
  • Technical data — IP address, user agent, device, referrer, and pages viewed — collected automatically by our hosting and analytics providers.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — see our Cookie Policy for the full inventory.

We do not collect special-category data, and we do not sell personal data.

3. Why we use your data and our legal basis

Under the GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — analytics and marketing cookies, live chat. You can withdraw consent at any time via .
  • Contract / pre-contractual steps (Art. 6(1)(b)) — handling briefing requests and communicating about engagements you initiate.
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — keeping the site secure, preventing abuse, and maintaining basic server logs. We balance these interests against your rights and freedoms.
  • Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) — when we must retain records for tax, accounting, or other statutory reasons.

4. Who we share data with

We use a small number of trusted processors. Each is bound by a Data Processing Agreement and only handles data under our instructions:

  • Vercel Inc. — hosting and basic analytics.
  • Google LLC — Google Analytics 4, with IP anonymization enabled.
  • Intercom Inc. — live chat and support messaging.
  • Apollo.io — anonymous visitor analytics.
  • LinkedIn Corporation — embedded profile badge.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery.
  • Supabase — backend database for forms and bookings.

Some of these providers are based in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, supplementary safeguards.

5. How long we keep data

  • Contact form / briefing requests: up to 24 months after our last interaction, then deleted unless we have a legal reason to keep them.
  • Analytics data: up to 14 months in Google Analytics; aggregate data may be kept longer.
  • Server / security logs: typically 30–90 days.
  • Cookies: see retention periods in our Cookie Policy.

6. Your rights under the GDPR

If you are in the EU, EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have your data deleted (the "right to be forgotten");
  • restrict or object to certain processing;
  • receive your data in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior lawful processing;
  • lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in Germany, your state DPA; otherwise the authority where you live or work).

To exercise any of these rights, email dennis@theonemile.com. We respond within one month.

7. How we protect your data

We use HTTPS across the site, restrict internal access to personal data on a need-to-know basis, and rely on providers (Vercel, Supabase, Google) that maintain industry-standard security certifications. No system is perfectly secure — if you believe your data has been compromised, please contact us immediately.

8. Children

The One Mile is a B2B service. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you on the site or by email.
